What air roasting means for you
Most coffee is roasted in a hot metal drum. Beans tumble against that drum, the outer skin can scorch, and smoke gets into the cup. That’s a big reason so much coffee tastes bitter, especially darker roasts.
We use a fluid-bed (aka - hot air) roaster. Beans ride in a stream of clean, hot air instead of sitting against a super-hot metal drum. They roast evenly. Less scorch. Less smoke bitterness. You get a smoother cup that still tastes bold and rich.
